Jabal Al-Lawz – NEOM Saudi Arabia

What is Jabal Al-Lawz?

“Jabal Al-Lawz ” in Arabic means “mountain of almonds,” but its composition suggests volcanic activity, with calc-alkaline granite and rhyolite dike formations. Located near Jordan’s border and the Red Sea, this unusual mountain rises to a height of more than 2,549 meters.

As you make your way up the mountain, you’ll come across rock art and inscriptions, as well as breathtaking views.

What is inside/attractions?

  • Each winter, the highest mountain in NEOM, is blanketed in snow thanks to the Gulf of Aqaba’s cool micro-climate, making for a breathtaking winter wonderland.
  • You’ll get the chance to see the Arabian Ibex, which is both beautiful and elusive.
  • This creates ideal conditions for snowfall over the mountain peak, making it a popular winter tourist destination for campers and hikers.
  • While the highest point of the summit, at 2,100 meters, is off-limits due to a military base, the views from the lower 2,100 meters may still be spectacular.
